About Us

What we believe

Matthew 4:4 ... Man shall not live by bread alone, but by EVERY word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

We find these words in the entire Bible.  The passages that we have listed are some of the things we practice that we have found to set us apart from some others that practice religion.

Our attempt is to be guided in worship, praise, and life by the Spirit of God so that whatsoever we do it will be pleasing to Him.  What we practice is what we believe was practiced by the New Testament Church, the church that is the body of Christ, the one Jesus  gave instructions to and left as His ambassadors.

We find these instructions in the  letters to the churches in the New Testament and practiced by those churches and the Apostles.  There is no newer testament so we see no reason to do anything different.

Repentance, i.e turning from a life based on self to a life committed to God's will for mankind.

Luke 13:2-3, And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things.  I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Acts 2:38, Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 3:19, Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

Acts 17:30,  And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

Water baptism by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus

Acts 2:38, Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 8:16, (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)

Acts 9:18,  And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.

Acts 10:47-48, Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

Acts 19:5, When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

Holy Ghost indwelling evidenced by speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance.

Acts 2:4, And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Acts 8:15-17, Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

Acts 9:17, And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.

Acts 10:44-46, While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,

Acts 19:6, And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

Lifting or raising hands in praise and worship.

1 Timothy 2:8,  I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

Prayer for the sick and laying on of hands.

James 5:14-15, Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

Mark 16:18,  They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Anointing with Oil

James 5:14-15, Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

Holy living

2 Corinthians 7:1, Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

1 Thessalonians 3:11-13,  Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you. And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you: To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

Hebrews 12:9-14, Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness. Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed. Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

1 Peter 1:16, Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

2 Peter 3:11,  Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

Abounding love

1 Thessalonians 3:12,  And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you

James 2:8, If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:

1 John 3:15, Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
