New Life Christian Ministries began in July or August of 1996. The church began with 12
people including the pastor's mother Mother Helen G. Moten who served as a church mother
and adult Sunday School Teacher. We began having services in the pastor's home. We later
moved to 10800 Morrison Road in New Orleans East LA in 1999, where we remained until
2005. Hurricane Katrina destroyed the city and the building at 10800 Morrison Road.
Pastor and Sister Moten returned to New Orleans in June of 2006. The pastor was not sure
if he would have a church to preach and teach until the landlord at 10800 Morrison Road
allowed him and his wife to see if there was anything left or that wasn't destroyed by the
storm. To their amazement the only thing that wasn't destroyed and was still hanging on the
wall where the pastor placed it in 1999 was his license issued by Bishop Michael Moten
Pastor of One Way Ministry in Omaha Nebraska.
Pastor Willie Moten thought this to be a sure sign that God had a ministry for him in New
Orleans. The church building is now located at 3707 Frenchmen Street New Orleans, LA
